A New Life Begins

I found I was pregnant on 9/26/07, the day before we went to Portland. I was so trilled! I didn't expect it so soon because we just tried for 2 months (it took us more than a half year last time), but I liked the SURPRISE! (The reason to put the picture of the pregnancy test: from the same box I used two tests to confirm both pregnancies with Noah and the 2nd. It's expired for a couple months but still good as I was told by the doctor. I don't think I can use the last one to test for the 3rd though!).

9/26/07(去波特蘭的前一天)我發現我懷孕了. 好興奮喔! (我放驗孕器照片的原因: 從同一盒的驗孕器我確定懷了嘉信和老二. 其實它已過期幾個月了, 但醫生說還是有效. 我想是無法用最後一個來驗老三了)

What the life with two little kids will be like? Maybe it's like Danny used one hand to control the wheel of Autopia ride and the other to take a picture; at the same time, he used one leg to push the pedal and the other to secure Noah. Okay, I'm a little exaggerated... (PS. We are back to Disneyland because we got another annual passes. So stay tuned--more Disneyland pictures to come!)

Our Trip to Portland (and Washington State)

Pastor Chan, Gloria, Golda, and Jasper (a testimony to share: after knowing that I lost my digital camera, camcorder, and my watch at Portland airport, Pastor Chan gave me his digital camera which he just bought months ago. Even though I missed my camera, which I used to take more than 10,000 pictures in the past 3 years, now every time I use the new camera, I feel God's grace and love.) We visited two Russian churchs in Washington. Two things I noticed were: 1) Russians are really tall, and 2) kids are very well behaved--they sat quietly for 2 & half hours.
我們參觀在華盛頓州的兩間俄國教會. 兩件事我注意到: 1) 俄國人真的很高; 2) 他們的小孩很乖--兩個半小時的聚會都安靜地坐著.

Unfortunately we couldn't see the Mount St. Helens (behind the clouds at top of the picture) after hours' waiting. (Click here for live Webcam--make sure you watch it during the day at PST)

Record high: continental breakfast 5 days in a row. (Danny's favorite: bake-it-yourself waffle)

Goodbye sunset, goodbye Portland. (It was the smallest airplane that I've ever taken--Bombardier CRJ-700, for 70 passengers only. To my surprise, it was very smooth!)
再會夕陽, 再會波特蘭. (這是我坐過最小的飛機Bombardier CRJ-700, 只能坐70位乘客. 意外的是非常平穩)


Several interesting things I found in this trip:
1. There's no sales tax in Oregon. (we should buy xbox 360, shouldn't we?)
2. Due to lots of rains, Subaru (4 wheel drive) is very popular there.
3. Gas stations in Oregon are all full service.
這次旅行我發現幾件有趣的事:
1. 奧勒崗州不收營業稅.
2. 由於很常下雨, 很多人開四輪傳動的Subaru汽車.
3. 奧勒崗州的加油站有人為你加油.

It was our first time going to Brandon's house. There's a story behind this picture: at first Andrew was playing with this toy, and then Noah just cut in between Andrew and the toy to play, and finally Brandon followed Noah... Sorry, Andrew :(
我們第一次去Brandon家玩. 這張照片有個故事喔: 一開始Andrew在玩這玩具, 然後嘉信插進來坐在Andrew和玩具之間, 最後Brandon也跟著插進來... 真對不起Andrew :(

I got a chance to babysit Jessica for a afternoon. I felt so proud of myself that I successfully got them to fall asleep at the same time! Noah was such a nice brother to share all the toys.
我有機會看嘉熙一個下午. 能同時把他們倆哄睡著我以自己為傲. 嘉信真是個好哥哥, 和妹妹分享玩具.

Noah was learning to talk and sing from Esther. That's why they had the same face on every picture!

This wasn't a good but funny picture. It looked like Noah had a ponytail. Actually the hairs were Cheri's. We went to Disneyland with her and Andrew.

Chatting with My Boy

Recently Noah and I had a lot of conversation, so we know each other better! 最近嘉信和我常常聊天, 所以我們更了解對方囉!


One day Noah suddenly started counting: "7, 8, 9, 10, 11"! I was so surprised that my month opened wider as each number being said. However, he always counted "1, 2, 4".

Another day Noah counted "8, 9, 10" after hearing his dad said "chicken" (pronounced "ji," compared to 7 "chi").

Anothor day Noah said "hao-chih (tastes good), chih, 8, 9, 10, 11".

Another day he said "Be careful!" (hsiao-hsin) to me with a serious face after I dropped his water bottle.

有一天嘉信突然自己數"7, 8, 9, 10, 11! 他每數一個數字我的嘴巴就開得更大. 不過他總是數"1, 2, 4".

另有一天聽到爸爸說"雞", 他緊接著數"8, 9, 10".

又有一天他說"好吃, 吃, 8, 9, 10, 11".

還有一天他表情嚴肅的對我說"小心", 因我把他的水瓶掉在地上.

Today I saw a TV ad about preparing a family emergency supply kit. I heard about it before but never took action. So, today is the day! Thanks to Noah for giving me the motivation to do it. (Hopefully I will remember to take a picture of our kit for you.)

Camping Trip Highlights

We love camping! Noah enjoyed every moment of this trip, and he even slept better... From this 3-day trip I learned that life could be this simple. I wish I could take a picture of the starry sky. When I saw it I was speechless! Then I thought of the verses:

"When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
what is man that you are mindful of him,
the son of man that you care for him?" (Psalms 8:3-4)

我們很享受露營! 每一片刻嘉信都喜歡, 他甚至比在家睡的更好... 從這次三天的露營我學習到生活是可以很簡單的. 可惜我無法拍下滿天星辰給你們看. 當我抬頭看一時真是說不出話來! 我突然想到一段經文:

"我觀看你指頭所造的天
並你所陳設的月亮星宿，
便說：人算甚麼，你竟顧念他？

It was too cold for Noah to eat breakfast outside. Look at the cozy playpen that Danny arranged for him.

General Sherman Tree--The World's Largest Living Thing (three pictures were combined to capture the whole tree)

Our campground was so small (only for tent size 9'x7') that we set up our tent on the parking area. It turned out great--no dust everywhere.
因我們的營地太小(只能容納9'x7'的帳篷), 所以我們把它架在停車位. 沒想到更好, 灰塵少很多.

We stopped by Lake Kaweah on our way back to LA.
在回家的路上我們經過Kaweah湖.
Then toys became the blanket. It was a happy ending!
後來玩具成為棉被, 為此旅程畫下美麗的句點.
